David G Sibbald MBE Steps Down as Acting Chairman and Director of ConStructEd Scotland After 15 Years of Service

David G. Sibbald MBE has stepped down from his role as Acting Chairman, which he has held for the past 5 years, and Director bringing to a close more than 15 years of dedicated involvement in the not-for-profit initiative.

David’s journey with the organisation began through his work with Constructionarium and later ConStructEd Scotland, reflecting a long-standing passion for encouraging young people to pursue careers in the construction industry. Over a distinguished career spanning more than 50 years, he has played a pivotal role in a wide range of initiatives designed to help individuals of all ages reach their full potential.

Through his leadership and commitment, countless participants have gained valuable skills, confidence, and opportunities for future employment. His work with Constructionarium and ConStructEd has provided an exceptional platform for students from colleges and universities to bridge the gap between theory and practical, real-world experience.

David’s contribution to both the construction industry and the development of future talent has been significant, and his impact will continue to be felt for many years to come.

Fellow director Dale Lyon has also played a key role in expanding the initiative’s reach, helping to engage secondary school pupils from across central Scotland. Alongside directors Brian Currie of Castle Group Scotland and Lloyd Walker of Jacobs, the organisation has supported many students in gaining vital experience to further their careers.

The Sibbald family has been instrumental in supporting ConStructEd Scotland, having provided a two-acre site within Sibbald Park for more than 12 years. The initiative has now transitioned to a new site in Dunfermline, marking an exciting new chapter.

David and the Sibbald family extend their best wishes to ConStructEd Scotland and its fellow directors for continued success in the future.
