Course Aims
To provide thorough practical and theory plant training in operating a materials rehandler, to enable the candidate to competently and safely carry out the role and pass the NPORS Theory and Practical Tests.
Course Content
- Responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER 1998, LOLER 1998 and other relevant legislation.
- Pre-operational checks and daily maintenance
- Battery care and refueling procedures
- Maneuvering
- Pre-operational safety checks
- Set up and machine positioning
- Loading of a vehicle such as dump truck or a skip etc.
- Stock pile work
- Mobility and stability factors
- Safety rules applicable to operating
- Safe use of attachments
- End of shift checks
Test
To achieve the Red NPORS Trained Operator Card candidates must pass the NPORS Theory Test and the Practical Test.
