Course Aims
The aim of the Ride On Road Roller Course is to provide candidates with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating a Road Roller to the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) standard.

- An Introduction to the Construction Industry
- Current relevant regulations
- Introduction to machine
- Pre – shift inspections
- Controls and instruments
- Coolant, fuel and lubrication systems
- Rolling and compacting
- Using and applying correct staggers and overlaps
- Maintaining cambers and cross-falls
- Compaction of junctions
- NPORS assessment, which includes Theory & Practical elements
Assessment
To achieve the Red NPORS Trained Operator Card candidates must pass the NPORS Theory Test and the Practical Test.
