The Level 4 Vocational Qualification is for an Appointed Person looking to progress their CPCS/NPORS card to full competence status

Course Aims

This is an assessment qualification.

To attain Level  S/NVQ qualification in the candidates chosen skilled trade, this award enables the candidate to apply for the CPCS Competent Operator Card or the NPORS Competent Operator Card (blue card).

Course Content

The candidate must be able to:
- Produce evidence to support their competence in the chosen skilled trade.
- Demonstrate that they have the required skill and knowledge in the chosen skilled trade.
- Provide understanding of health and safety standards, and knowledge of safe systems of work.

7 mandatory units required:
- Develop and Maintain Good Working Relationships
- Evaluate and Select Work Methods
- Identify, Allocate and Plan the Deployment and Use of Plant, Equipment or Machinery
- Plan and Establish Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Systems for Lifting Operations
- Plan Lifting Activities 
- Plan the Preparation of the Site for the Project
- Plan Work Activities and Resources to Meet Work Requirements

Qualifications Obtained

This Level 4 S/NVQ is required to allow application for the CPCS/NPORS Competent Operator Card.

Entry Requirements

The candidate must have passed a CSCS Health Safety & Environmental test for Managers and Professionals within the last 24 months and hold a current valid CPCS/NPORS trained operator card in order to begin the VQ.
