Course Aims

The NRSWA Reassessment course aims to ensure the candidates continue to maintain the relevant knowledge to perform Supervisor or Operative duties to the standards prescribed by HAUC UK in-line with the NRSW Act 1991, in order to safeguard themselves and others.

By the end of the NRSWA course delegates will be able to:
• Summarise the requirements of the current NRSW Act.
• Select appropriate personal protective and safety equipment as required to carry out street works activities.
• Supervisors will be able to monitor duties performed by Operatives for each unit and/or qualification Standards in-line with current legislation, and ACOP where applicable.
• Provide a safe working environment for themselves and others.

Who Attends

Experienced Operatives and Supervisors with expiring SWQR Cards which require renewal. 

Course Content

The NRSWA reassessment includes:

For Operatives:
• Location and avoidance of underground apparatus.
• Signing, lighting and guarding.
• Excavation in the road/highway.
• Reinstatement of compaction and backfill materials.
• Reinstatement of sub-base and road base non-bituminous materials.
• Reinstatement of bituminous materials (cold-lay & hot-lay).
• Reinstatement of concrete slabs.
• Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways.

For Supervisors:
• Location and avoidance of underground apparatus.
• Monitoring Signing, lighting and guarding.
• Monitoring Excavation in the road/highway.
• Monitoring Reinstatement of compaction and backfill materials.
• Monitoring Reinstatement of sub-base and road base non-bituminous materials.
• Monitoring Reinstatement of bituminous materials (cold-lay & hot-lay).
• Monitoring Reinstatement of concrete slabs.
• Monitoring Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways.

Course Duration

This is a 2 day course.

Maximum Candidates

Maximum attendees: 10 candidates.

Qualifications Obtained

Upon completion candidates will receive the relevant SWQR card valid for 5 years.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English. Only those with experience should attend, this is a reassessment only.
