Working Safely is for people at any level, in any sector, needing a knowledge of the essentials of health and safety.

Course Content

The IOSH Working Safely course content includes:

The Law and Your Responsibilities

·                  Understanding the moral, legal and financial reasons for working safely

Hazards and Risks

·                  Understanding what is meant by the term’s ‘hazard’ and ‘risk’ and how to identify common hazards faced in the workplace

Health & Safety Performance

·                  Understanding how to assist employers to improve safety performance in the workplace

Environmental & Pollution Management

·                  Appreciate the fundamental requirements of effective environmental waste and pollution management

Knowledge

This IOSH Working Safely course will provide delegates with the knowledge required to ensure employees within any organisation understand their health and safety responsibilities in the workplace.

Methods

Teaching Methods
The IOSH Working Safely course is highly interactive with a high proportion of discussions, best practice sharing, syndicate exercises and case studies will be supplemented with classroom based tutorial and presentations.

Assessment Methods
Delegates will be continuously assessed during the IOSH Working Safely course. A final assignment is completed at the end of the course.

The process following course completion is as follows;
·  Delegates complete an assignment at the end of the course
·  Trainer marks the assignments within a 2 week deadline.
·  Once marked results are submitted to IOSH
·  Certificates are received from IOSH and are forwarded on to the customer.

Qualifications Obtained

Issue of the related IOSH Working Safely certificate (valid 3 years) will be awarded to those persons who successfully complete the assignment.

Pre-Requisites:  The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English

Bespoke Event
For a IOSH Working Safely course held at your own location, please ensure that the classroom you make available has a 240v power supply and is a suitable size for the number of delegates attending. Please ensure that the practical area has been risk assessed, is free from harm and is suitable for training.

If you are an approved CITB levy paying organisation then this course is eligible for a grant of £30.00 when a course is successfully completed (subject to meeting the eligibility criteria).

Sibbald Training are an Approved Training Organisation with CITB, and will make the claim on your behalf if your company levy number is provided at the time of booking (or you can make the claim later direct if this information is not available).
