Course Aims
The one-day Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme course aims to highlight the importance of site environmental issues and how to minimise or eradicate environmental impact.
Who Attends
The SEATS course is for any delegates with management or supervisory responsibilities on a construction site. This could include site supervisors, managers, assistant managers, agents, and foremen.
By the end of the SEATS course, delegates will:
- Be aware of construction related environmental issues.
- Have an increased capability to control and minimise environmental impact.
- Identify environmental improvement opportunities.
- Generally be in a better position to improve upon site environmental management.
Course Content
The SEATS course content includes:
- Environmental impacts and the issues associated with construction activities
- Why sustainability issues are important
- An introduction to Environmental Management Systems
- Waste management
- Pollution prevention, contaminated land and water management
- How to be a good neighbour
- Being a responsible contractor
Teaching Methods
The SEATS course is highly interactive with a high proportion of discussions, best practice sharing, syndicate exercises and case studies will be supplemented with classroom based tutorial.
Assessment Methods
Delegates will be continuously assessed during the SEATS course in preparation for the final multiple choice examination and will need to achieve 72% in the final exam, in order to successfully complete the SEATS course.

This is a 1 day course.
Maximum Candidates
Maximum attendees: 20 candidates.
Qualifications Obtained
Issue of the most highly regarded Construction Site Environmental Awareness Certificate (valid 5 years) will be awarded to those persons who successfully complete the SEATS course.
Entry Requirements
Pre-Requisites: The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English
Additional Information
For a SEATS refresher course held at your own location, please ensure that the classroom you make available has a 240v power supply and is a suitable size for the number of delegates attending. Please ensure that the practical area has been risk assessed, is free from harm and is suitable for training.
