Course Aims
This test makes sure that key knowledge of each plant category or group of categories is maintained, in order to renew a CPCS competent operator (blue) card.
Who Attends
Candidates must have passed the CSCS Health Safety Test (within the last 24 months).
Course Content
- The renewable test is split into test modules. Each module had 15 randomly selected multiple choice questions, which need to be answered within 15 minutes.
- Each module is CPCS plant specific and the questions are based on a range of topics and key knowledge expected of experienced plant operators.
- Different modules have been developed to meet the demands of various construction plant and trades. Modules are available for each category of plant or group of similar categories. You will need to make sure you book and prepare for the right one(s).
- Use the Module Matcher to work out which module(s) you need to take for the CPCS renewal test.
- You can take up to five CPCS renewal test modules.
Test
You will need to pass each module to retain each category when renewing your card. Concessions may apply to test bookings when similar categories are held on a card, but only one module needs to be passed. You will have 15 minutes to answer 15 multiple-choice questions per module, once the computer based test starts.
Additional Information
CPCS Renewal Tests are available on a daily basis with a variety of time slots. Tests are not available to book online, as our team will check all your existing card details and advise you directly on the correct renewal test and pricing.
