Course Aims
This is an assessment qualification.
To attain Level 3 S/NVQ qualification in the candidates chosen skilled trade, this award enables the candidate to apply for the CPCS Competent Operator Card or the NPORS Competent Operator Card (Blue card).
Course Content
The candidate must be able to:
- Produce evidence to support their competence in the chosen skilled trade.
- Demonstrate that they have the required skill and knowledge in the chosen skilled trade.
- Provide understanding of health and safety standards, and knowledge of safe systems of work.
8 mandatory units required:
- Develop and Maintain Good Working Relationships
- Supervising Lifting Activities
- Maintain Systems for Health, Safety and Welfare and Environmental Protection
- Co-ordinate Work Control
- Allocate and Monitor the use of Plant, Equipment or Machinery
- Maintain the Dimensional Accuracy of the Work
- Co-ordinate Preparation for Site Operations
- Allocate Work and Check People's Performance
Qualifications Obtained
This Level 3 S/NVQ is required to allow application for the CPCS/NPORS Competent Operator Card.
Entry Requirements
The candidate must have passed a CSCS Health & Safety Supervisors test within the last 24 months and hold a current valid CPCS/NPORS trained operator card in order to begin the VQ.
