The one-day Directors Role in Health & Safety course aims to highlight the human, economic and financial implications of non-compliance with health and safety legislation. You can discover how to promote a positive health and safety culture within your organisation.

Who Attends

The course is intended for Company Directors. Even if you are not directly responsible for Health and Safety in your company, in your role as a Company Director you have joint responsibility with your fellow directors under Health and
Safety legislation.
You’ll be encouraged to explore your legal responsibilities and consider how boardroom decisions impact on the health and safety of your workforce and there will be open-forum workshops to facilitate stimulating discussion.

The United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) recognises this course as meeting the required standard for all directors working on UKCG sites.

Course Content

The DRHS course content includes:
Legal and moral responsibilities
Human, economic and financial implications of non-compliance with health and safety legislation
How to promote a positive health and safety culture within your organisation
Your legal responsibilities and consider how boardroom decisions impact on the health and safety of your employees and workforce


 

 

 

Knowledge

By the end of the DRHS course of training delegates will be aware off the the human,economic and financial implications of non-compliance with health and safety legislation.

Methods

Teaching Methods
The DRHS course is highly interactive with a high proportion of discussions, best practice sharing, syndicate exercises and case studies will be supplemented with classroom based tutorial.

Assessment Methods
Delegates will be continuously assessed during the DRHS course in preparation for the final multiple choice examination and will need to achieve 72% in the final exam, in order to successfully complete the DRHS course.

Qualifications Obtained

Issue of the related DRHS construction Skills Certificate (valid 5 years) will be awarded to those persons who successfully complete the DRHS course.

Entry Requirements

Pre-Requisites: The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English

Additional Information

For a DRHS course held at your own location, please ensure that the classroom you make available has a 240v power supply and is a suitable size for the number of delegates attending. Please ensure that the practical area has been risk assessed, is free from harm and is suitable for training.
