Securing Opportunities for School Leavers!

A group of students from across West Lothian have successfully completed a school day-release training programme with Sibbald Training.  The students attended Sibbald Training over a 12 week period to gain additional skills relating to: employability, health and safety, numeracy, literacy, joinery, brickwork, monoblocking and painting.  The group also learned how to use specific tools under the guidance of their instructor, Ian Mair.  The opportunity is extremely popular with students from across West Lothian and the successful candidates completed a competitive interview to secure their place on the course.  The sessions are designed to support young people into a positive outcome when they choose to leave school.  Indeed, it has already made a significant impact on 2 young people in the group as both Darren Murphy from St Kentigern’s Academy and Cameron Glen from Bathgate Academy will be progressing onto the Sibbald Employability Fund programme this summer. Good work Jack Speirs and Team.
