Pedestrian Operated Pallet Trucks

The Aim of the  Pedestrian Operated Pallet Trucks Course is to:

Provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating the Pedestrian Operated Pallet Truck.

Course Duration

½ - 1 day depending on the experience of the candidate, the number of candidates and the ratio of candidates / machines per Instructor.

The Objectives of the Course are to enable delegates to:

  • Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accepted good practice
  • Carry out a pre-shift inspection
  • Be able to load and unload pallets as required
  • Understand the causes of instability of the truck and loads
  • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Act 1974  & other current relevant legislation

  • Introduction to machine
  • Pre - shift inspections
  • Components and main types of lift trucks
  • Operators safety code
  • Handling loaded / unloaded pallets and difficult shaped loads

Certification

R.T.I.T.B Approved Certificate and Licence.
